MACKINAC ISLAND
Mackinac Island is just about a two hour drive north, making it a great place for a day trip from Fife Lake.  Mackinac Island is located between Michigan’s upper and lower peninsula.  The island does not have any cars and you must take a 15 minute ferry ride to reach the island.  The best way to get around the island is by renting or bringing your own bikes, but there are also many horses and horse carriages.  There is a beautiful bike trail which surrounds the island and many more through the hilly interior.  Mackinac Island is also know for its small shops, historic fort, fudge, ice-cream, and breathtaking views of the Straits of Mackinac.
